Welcome to Paisley School District #11 (Charter). We are an
"Exceptional" kindergarten through twelfth grade school district with an
average total enrollment of 80 students. Paisley School District is
located in the community of Paisley at mile post 98 on Highway 31 in
south central Oregon. The district serves the communities of Paisley and
Summer Lake stretching a distance of approximately 50 miles from north
to south with a total estimated district population of 350 people.
Our instructional staff includes 6.5 certified teachers, 1.25 registered
teachers, and three educational assistants. Our administrative staff
includes the District Secretary, Business Manager,
Maintenance/Transportation Director and the Superintendent/Principal.
Our support staff includes a halftime Librarian, one Bus Driver, and one
Custodian. A group of community volunteers operate the school's
volunteer lunch program serving breakfast and lunch to our students each
day.
Paisley School District was the first charter district in the state and
has developed several innovative programs which have enhanced the
educational quality for our students. These include a low power FM radio
station, KPAI-LP 103.1 FM, a Simmental cattle operation which currently
has 15 head of cattle, and a Rainbow Trout Growth and Release Program.
The district also operates a dormitory that houses an average of 10
foreign exchange students from South and Central America, Europe and
Asia.
Paisley School District has received the State of Oregon's highest
rating 4 of the last 7 years on the state report card and has achieved
"Adequate Yearly Progress" under federal "No Child Left Behind"
regulations each year.
The community members within our district support the progressive and
innovative activities of the School Board and staff. They further
support the district directly with their involvement in the "Paisley
School Support Team," the volunteer lunch program, volunteers in the
classroom and various other school related community activities.
Paisley School District continues to work with other Remote and
Necessary Districts in Oregon and the State Legislature to ensure
adequate and long term funding to ensure a viable, local and effective
educational system for our students.
